I’m now in KL for the next 4 days. Yesterday I met Tim whom I met online and he make time to meet up with me. Initially we are only meeting for lunch BUT because we “clicked” and started to share more of our online marketing career. So the meeting became a 4 hours session. 😛 In the session, we had share lots and lots of our life experiences. Felt that I want to share some important stuff that we share and discussed.
Tim brought me to TUMI boutique where they specialise in travel backpacks.
How Richard Branson started Virgin Airlines, here’s the version that he shared here –
“I was in my late twenties, so I had a business, but nobody knew who I was at the time. I was headed to the Virgin Islands and I had a very pretty girl waiting for me, so I was, umm, determined to get there on time.
At the airport, my final flight to the Virgin Islands was cancelled because of maintenance or something. It was the last flight out that night. I thought this was ridiculous, so I went and chartered a private airplane to take me to the Virgin Islands, which I did not have the money to do.
Then, I picked up a small blackboard, wrote “Virgin Airlines. $29.” on it, and went over to the group of people who had been on the flight that was cancelled. I sold tickets for the rest of the seats on the plane, used their money to pay for the chartered plane, and we all went to the Virgin Islands that night. “
Successful People Start Before They Are Ready
From the meet up with Tim, I realised that most people always want to be ready for things that they wanted to do but if you realise that successful people start even before they are ready. Richard Branson walked the talk and do the talk. He started businesses even though he doesn’t know anything about the business. I also realise the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE between Successful People and people who don’t see success is their MINDSET. Successful people always think and do things that most people don’t like to do and that is one of the reasons why they are successful.
The way that our education system works is you have to be prepared for exams, spelling, family planning and many more. Most of us fall into this category. This mindset really kills an entrepreneur mindset.

Most people are afraid of FEAR and will avoid it at all costs! FEAR makes people want to stay safe and intact but these are not what an entrepreneur is. An entrepreneur is one that is adventurous and one that doesn’t FEAR failure. An employee fear to take risks, responsibilities, burden and much more. If you have these values then entrepreneurship might not be the thing for you. Most people FEAR of losing whatever they have currently and are not willing to sacrifice what they have now. So in order to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to use FEAR to your advantage. Use it to diagnose your business, the fear of missing out details that will greatly affect your business. The only way to overcome FEAR is to EMBRACE IT! Once you totally accept and receive FEAR into you, it will turn into motivation for you. FEAR also comes in as being afraid of how our loved ones and people around looked at us.
These are the 2 factors that I feel that before you even thought of being successful. You have to have this 2 elements in you to be successful.
Hope that the above does add value to you. Do share it around.
Thanks and more to come!
